Bring in the Experts: How to engage a Financial Adviser to a FAP on the new Financial Service Providers Register

March 17, 2021 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am NZDT

Bring in the Experts: Wednesday 17th March – How to engage a Financial Adviser to a FAP on the new Financial Service Providers Register

We are pleased to deliver to you a webinar presented by the Companies Office demonstrating step by step, how a Financial Advice Provider (FAP) and an Authorised Body (non-licensed FAP) can link advisers on the Financial Service Providers Register (FSPR).

In the new regime which commences this Monday 15 March, for a Financial Adviser to continue to provide regulated financial advice they must be linked to either a FAP or an Authorised Body (non-licensed FAP). The Financial Adviser has 90 days from the 15 March to ensure they are linked to a FAP.

The following will be discussed in the webinar:
-A quick overview of the new register, what’s different and why it is being updated.
-Provide information for FAPs/Authorised Bodies looking to link/remove FAs to their licence, including a demonstration of the process.
-Provide information on where advisers can go for more information on navigating the new register (including help guides and videos).
-Time to answer any questions.

This is a not to be missed webinar for any FAP looking to link financial advisers in the new regime.

The presenter is Alex Vaineritua. Alex works as a Senior Stakeholder Engagement Adviser for the New Zealand Companies Office. He has been working with the Financial Service Providers Register for two years, helping to ensure that the financial advice industry is informed about developments regarding the Register, and the new financial advice regime. He has also worked with the industry to ensure their voice is heard and considered in Companies Office planning as they work on the new registry systems.
