The Road Ahead – Part 1 – Understanding your competency requirements in the regime

We are excited to be starting the “2023 The Road Ahead” four-part knowledge webinar series for financial advisers with a webinar on Professional Development Plans and CPD requirements. This is an important component of being licensed in the new regime.

It’s that time of the year to have your Professional Development Plan fine-tuned for the year ahead. Let’s revisit this process and dig a bit deeper to make it a meaningful plan to upskill you further this year.

We will discuss competence, knowledge and skill and what this means in relation to the Code of Professional Conduct for financial advice services when considering the development and implementation of your professional development plan.

As an Adviser Member of Financial Advice NZ there are requirements to maintain an annual PDP and have a certain number of CPD hours completed each calendar year. You will need at least 30 hours relevant structured hours over a rolling 24-month period, and 2 structured hours of ethics training too.

Remember for Trusted Advisers and CFP Practitioners there is a higher CPD threshold to reach, so stay informed and learn how to manage this from our expert presenter.

Cecilia Farrow from Thrive Consulting will join the webinar to deliver a different view on how to make your PDP be meaningful for you as an advisers and your advice business.

Don’t miss out on this knowledge series which will provide you with confidence that you are on track for continuing to meet the requirements of your FAP licensing conditions and best business practice in the new regime.
