Impact Investing – what is it and how can you advisers incorporate it into a portfolio?

Rebekah is the ESG Investment Specialist for New Zealand and also the Head of Product. As our ESG Investment Specialist she works actively in Responsible Investment and with the Sustainable Funds Team at AMP Capital, the industry within New Zealand and is passionate for all things in responsible investment and corporate governance. As a strong client advocate, she also manages the relationships with a number of AMP Capital’s long-standing clients. In Rebekah’s Head of Product role she has the responsibility for bringing new and innovative product solutions to the New Zealand market.

Previously at AMP Capital Rebekah held the Head of Distribution role and has over 18 years’ experience with AMP Capital and over 22 years’ proven expertise in investment markets, regulatory risk compliance and financial services. This comes from a diverse background and extensive leadership experience, including several years working overseas in the UK and Canada.

She is a member of the AMP Capital New Zealand Strategy team, and Management Team and the Australia and New Zealand Client Leadership Team, a member of the Responsible Investment Committee, the Financial Markets Conduct Committee and is a Director of AMP Investment Management. She is also a member of the Sustainable Finance Forum Technical Working Group. Rebekah also holds a number of not for profit board roles outside of AMP Capital and is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Directors.

Mark Banicevich –  ex FMA and now with Partners Life in an adviser support role

Mark Banicevich is the Industry Engagement Manager at Partners Life. His role includes engaging with government entities, the Financial Services Council, and adviser businesses. Before joining Partners Life in 2016, Mark was a Principal Intelligence Analyst at the Financial Markets Authority. In 2019, Mark won the Financial Services Council Emerging Leader Award.

Mark aims to demystify the new financial advice regime for financial advisers. This includes understanding FSLAA and its regulations, the Code of Conduct, and licensing. He instigated the Adviser Support Programme for Partners Life, an online tool to help financial advisers document their businesses to prepare for full licensing. He brought together life insurers and banks to cooperate to help advisers understand and prepare for the new regime, with initiatives including industry messaging, the website www.navigatingregulation.co.nz, and the FSC Navigation Regulation roadshows.
