Today our guest presenter is George Carter, the Managing Director of Nikko AM in New Zealand. George has been involved in the financial services industry for over 20 years.
He has seen the development of ethical, ESG, SRI, social, and impact funds over that time, from his first investment in an ethical fund in 2000 to launching an impact investment fund aiming to help with the injustice of modern slavery and human trafficking in 2021.

In this webinar, George will provide some of the background and trends in this area, and to help demystify the jargon. He will talk about the importance of nuance in these areas and the need for clarity both from investors in what they are wanting to achieve, and from providers in what they are doing and offering. George will also share how the Freedom Fund is a first of its kind investment fund in New Zealand and what he hopes it can achieve.
