Bring in the Experts: Five things advisers should know about forestry investment
November 15 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am NZDT
Presented by Gordon Wong – Co Owner, Legal Services Director & Director of the Forest Enteprises Limited Board and Graeme Tindall – Managed Investments Director & Chair on the Forest Entreprises Limited Board.
Aotearoa New Zealand is a global exemplar of forestry. The sector is worth $6 billion in export value, and the government is ambitious for growth and added value. Forest Enterprises has been operating in the sector for over 50 years and although forestry may be considered a niche investment, it certainly is not on the fringe, with thousands of people investing directly or through managed funds. Gordon Wong & Graeme Tindall joins us to outline the five key aspects of investing in forestry including why investors like it, how the cashflows work, and what good looks like.
Forestry Enterprises, one of New Zealand’s leading forestry investment managers. The company manages 20,000 hectares of sustainable Radiata pine forestry for its 53 managed investment schemes and has around $450 million under management on behalf of 6,500 investors. Forest Enterprises manages the harvest of around a million tonnes of logs per year and is the largest harvesting business in Wairarapa.
