The Board of Financial Advice New Zealand announces Tony Dench as Interim Chief Executive Officer. He will take up the position from 13 November 2023 while the Board undertakes a search for a permanent CEO.

Tony is well-known in the financial sector, having worked in financial services and banking in New Zealand for almost 20 years. He has experience as a CEO having led the SHARE and Newpark group of financial advisers for five years until the end of 2022.

The industry networks and extensive experience that Tony brings to Financial Advice New Zealand will allow the professional adviser body to maintain the direction and momentum that it has built up. This will keep it in good stead to continue to grow and support New Zealanders financial understanding, wealth, and wellbeing, and provides continuity of its member services prior to the appointment of a new CEO. “We are fortunate to have incredible people advocating for the work we do in supporting financial advisers and informing consumers how to access quality financial advice. The board is delighted Tony brings his expertise to the association as we search for a permanent CEO.” says Heather Roy, Chairperson of the Board. Tony is a Chartered Accountant, a Chartered Member of the Institute of Directors and is currently an independent director of several privately owned companies.
