The Office of the Privacy Commissioner will deliver a webinar on the new Privacy Act 2020. The new Act has affected all businesses and anybody who obtains personal details. The new Act has meant significant changes for businesses in New Zealand. In many instances, the Act highlighted how many businesses where already non-compliant with existing legislation and has bought the need to be compliant to the forefront.

This is a not to be missed webinar if you need to understand what your Privacy obligations are and if you need to update your legislative gap in your competencies.

Speakers

Vanya Vida, Office of the Privacy Commissioner.  Vanya is a Senior Policy Advisor with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner, New Zealand, with principal responsibilities in relation to international policy and for regulation of the Credit Reporting Privacy Code.  Vanya contributes to the work of a number of networks of privacy and data protection authorities involving close engagement with the Global Privacy Assembly and the Asia Pacific Privacy Authorities Forum and has been actively contributing to the work of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development’s Working Party on Data Governance and Privacy.  Prior to joining the Office of the Privacy Commissioner, Vanya was practicing law in Delhi, India with a speciality in Companies law and Arbitration law. Vanya holds a BA LLB (Hons) from Amity University in India and a Graduate Diploma in Law from University of Auckland.
