Derek Grantham & John Botica, Compliance experts – The new financial regime – What you need to know and your duties under the Financial Markets Conduct Act

How do I explain the volatility of KiwiSaver to my clients?”
Andrew has worked in the financial markets for over 30 years. He is currently a director and shareholder of ISG Limited, the holding company that owns JMI Wealth and Select Wealth Limited. He chairs the Select Wealth Management Board of Directors and is chair of the Investment Management Governance Committee. In addition, he is fund manager of the Clarity Fixed Income Fund and manages a number of high-net worth private portfolios.

The new financial regime – What you need to know and your duties under the Financial Markets Conduct Act

John Botica

Director of Market Engagement

John leads the FMA’s market engagement activities.  John is an experienced senior executive, director and consultant in the financial services industry. In previous roles he was co-founder of the Assure NZ Group, managing director at Guardian Trust and general manager wealth management at AXA. John is leading FMA’s response to the new financial advice regime.

Derek Grantham

Principal, Consultant

Derek Grantham brings the AFA perspective into the work and thinking of the Financial Markets Authority, having become an AFA in late 2010 and with the FMA since 2012. Derek brings his experience as a financial adviser and as head of adviser services for a national advisory firm to his role as Principal Consultant. He also drew upon that experience, and perspective, when leading the FMA’s contribution to MBIE’s FA Review

How can advisers can meet the requirements of the Code of Conduct.
When Mark Banicevich left the FMA and joined Partners Life, he was acutely aware that changes to the financial advice regime would be challenging for financial advisers – particularly moving from an individual regime, to a licensed entity regime.  Mark as Partners Life Industry Engagement Manager role is to help advisers and adviser businesses understand and transition to the new regime. He also liaises with other industry entities, such as the Financial Services Council.

The Remuera Golf Club have also requested attendees car pool if at all possible to reduce the impact on car parking for members.
